Loyola University Chicago is one of the largest of the 27 Jesuit Catholic universities in the United States and its mission emphasizes the importance of knowledge, intellectual curiosity, global perspectives, and cura personalis, which translates to “care for the whole person.” The university currently enrolls over 17,000 students on three campuses in the Chicago area: Lake Shore, Water Tower, and the Health Sciences Campus (HSC). In the last decade, Loyola has experienced tremendous growth in virtually every dimension, including undergraduate enrollment, student retention, healthcare innovation, physical footprint, and academic programs.

The university offers more than 80 undergraduate majors and 80 undergraduate minors, plus more than 140 graduate and professional degree programs. There are many opportunities for transdisciplinary and interprofessional partnerships with faculty in health sciences and public health, medicine, social work, education, business, communication, environmental sustainability, law, pastoral studies and arts and sciences. The MNSON offers a unique Pathway to the BSN program through our partnership with Loyola University Arrupe College, a two-year college that offers rigorous liberal arts education to a diverse population of first-generation students and students of color.

The brand new Institute for Racial Justice is a mission priority for Loyola University. This institute is a transdisciplinary center for research, education, and community engagement around racism and racial disparities that aspires to gain a greater understanding of racism in all of its forms and to find new ways of connection and action to facilitate greater equity and justice.

Company History

The Loyola University Chicago MNSON, a leader in nursing education for more than 85 years, is a community of 71 full-time faculty in two departments, 19 staff, and over 1400 students. Programs include a BSN degree with 4 study options, an MSN degree in nursing and healthcare administration, a DNP degree with tracks for preparation in nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist roles, and a PhD in Nursing degree. Faculty engage in research to promote health equity within the context of integrated human outcome science focused on multilevel health outcomes, human experiences and mechanisms underlying health, and quality of healthcare systems.
